The Birth of “Hocquet”

The brand “Hocquet” was born on the sidelines of field hockey pitches. As former passionate players, we noticed the lack of off-field clothing truly reflecting the values of the sport we love.

That’s how we imagined a lifestyle clothing brand dedicated to hockey lovers, beautiful play, and the warm atmosphere of the post-game gathering: the “after game club house”.

To create the name of our brand, we went back to the origins of the word hockey and combined its two historical etymologies: “hoquet” and “hocky”.

In old French, “hoquet” referred to the curved shepherd’s stick, while “hocky” referred to the cork stoppers from beer barrels once used as balls.

This is how “Hocquet” was born — blending both the heritage and modern spirit of our sport.
